Lesson 22 – Divers Sentences of sundry Matters

1. Eloquence is a goodly gift; which in truth, shines; but in falsehood, corrupts..
2. It is hard to find a meek witty man.
3. Nature, Will, Diligence, and Order, make men wise and good: as for the number of years , it brings nought save death.
4. Man is the measure of all things.
5. Holiness and Righteousness make men like unto God.
6. Small expenses oft used, consume great substance.
7. Excess, either hurts, or profits nothing.

9. Rest must needs be pleasant’ for it is the medicine of all the diseases that are in Labour.
